Pawel Kuczynski is a Polish artist who specialises in images that make you think hard about the world we live in.

While some of these may be hard to decipher, the message in all of them should be all too clear. These are some seriously intelligent and thought provoking works of art.

1. Step back from yourself and try and understand “why you did what you did” as an outside observer. That will often help you to be more compassionate - and less self-critical, judgmental and harsh.

2. Recognise that no situation, relationship, choice, action or decision defines you as a person….

Pakistan army intervenes in political crisis.

If this doesn’t tell you that innocent men and women are being used as pawns by ISI-backed Khan and Qadri against an equally reprehensible civilian leadership that of Nawaz’s, I don’t know what will. In rudimentary terms, the most dispossessed and cheated on person in this ugly mess is the average Pakistani civilian who simply wants a better and safer tomorrow.

Important update.

"God loves sincere return to Him and He forgives and purifies. The Prophet (SAW) himself exemplified that in many circumstances. `Aishah ® reports that once, a man came to the Prophet and told him: “I am lost!” The Prophet asked: “Why?” The man confessed: “I had intercourse with my wife during the fasting hours of Ramadan.” Muhammad answered: “Give charity!” The man replied: “I own nothing!” Then he sat down at a short distance from the Prophet. Some time later, a man arrived, bringing a dish of food. [Muslim, Bukhâri] The Prophet called out: “Where is the man who is lost?” “Here”, he answered. Muhammad told him: “Take this food and give it away in charity.” “To one poorer than myself? My family has nothing to eat!” “Well then, eat it yourselves”, the Prophet replied with a smile. That gentleness and kindness were the very essence of his teaching."

Most people give the homeless change or leftovers, Mark Bustos is cutting their hair

For the past few months, New York City hairstylist Mark Bustos — who normally spends his days working at an upscale salon — has been volunteering on his days off to offer haircuts to homeless people he sees on the street. With a simple phrase, “I want to do something nice for you today,” he has been helping people get a fresh, uplifting makeover.

For people who have been trapped in a cycle of poverty, unemployment and homelessness, the makeover can also serve a useful function: looking presentable for a job.
